Jan & Bec Summer Lovin’ {Melbourne | Wedding Photography}

You may remember Jan & Bec whose engagement shoot we did a little while back? Well their wedding day dawned cloudy but wonderfully warm and they recently  tied the knot in a really beautiful, romantic ceremony at St Patrick’s Cathedral. The church was all still decked out in its Christmas finery and just added to the joyful atmosphere on the day.

This gorgeous wedding was a long time in the making – it took Jan six years to propose and Bec waited ever so patiently for that moment to come. But when it did, no detail was spared and Jan proposed on a fabulous trip to Egypt. On camels. In front of the Pyramids! Need we say more? The rest, as they say, is history.

These two are apparently polar opposites, but seeing them together you wouldn’t know because they’re just so perfect together.

What we really loved about them when we got to know them better was the fun-loving nature and quirkiness in their relationship – how many girls do you know that can piggy back their partner as a party trick? And really far too – not just for five seconds! They are so cute together! How cute is this little fun fact about them – their first kiss was on a set of swings. Everybody say it with us now… nawwwwwww!

This connection was really evident at their reception too where they boogied the night away, conga line and all. Jan rapping along to Will Smith and knowing every. single. word was brilliant! And you know it’s a good wedding when every single person at the reception is up on the dance floor getting on their moves like Jagger, regardless of age.

Oh we loved photographing all these special moments for you Jan and Bec and wish we could put ALL the images up for the world to see.

Thank you for letting us share in your special day and capturing these priceless memories for you’

xoxo

Kelly and Lee

The story of my little girl {Melbourne | Childrens Photography}

Once again this month I get to share with you some little aspect of my life. Nothing gives me greater joy (and at times frustration hehe) than my two girls. One night I was driving home from a photo shoot and the sun was setting. The light was just beautiful and on the spur of the moment I decided to go home, dress Mia in her white dress and gumboots and go “jump in muddy puddles” –  a-la-peppa-pig – at the beach. It was really windy and cold, but I am so glad that I went, because some of the images I got took my breath away and I am so glad I will have these gorgeous images of Mia forever!

Sorry there are so many, but I just couldn’t leave any out!

Now don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of the page too to link to the next photographer in the chain, the amazing Nancy Wilkins.

A year in images {Melbourne | Portrait Photography}

What a year 2011 has been – i gave birth to my second darling daughter in January this year and I simply can’t believe that she will be 1 soon! This year has been amazing – I took a few months off to get used to being a mother of two and watching my two girls fall in love with one another has been nothing short of magical. I am truly blessed with an amazing little family.

My photography is also taking me in all sorts of new directions and I cannot wait to see what the next year brings. But in the meantime, please enjoy going through some of my old blog posts and enjoying all the beautiful people little and big that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this year.

The story of Mother’s Group… {Melbourne Family Photography}

You may remember that last month I started a new monthly feature where, along with a few other amazing photographers, we post the story of certain elements of our lives. Then we link to the next brilliant photographer in the chain and so the chain goes along. It’s so awesome having this insight into their lives and I love sharing a bit of my life with my  fans. So this month I will be linking to the wonderful Jessica Deane Photography, so check at the bottom of the post for a link to her work.

Now a bit more about my story. I don’t know how it works anywhere else, but here in Australia, after you have your first baby you go to these meetings with a nurse and a whole lot of other first time mums who have just had babies too. When Mia was born, I met up with this amazing group of girls and four of us became quite close. While we don’t catch up much anymore because of work and life, we do still try to catch up at least a few times a year (yes, you read right, a year! hahaha) and when we do meet up, it’s like old times again. I do so enjoy meeting up with these wonderful ladies and their families and I wish we could meet up more often. One of the littlies from Mother’s group is actually my little Mia’s bestest friend and we do see his parents quite often, which is just lovely. So here is the story of our annual Christmas picnic. Hope you enjoy:-)

This is what happens when your husband thinks he’s hilarious!

My hubby took these (the three below) so they’re a bit out of focus. Just goes to show that it’s not all about the camera, eh?

Young love! Mia with her best friend, Jorden

Now off you go to check out the beautiful Jessica Deane Photography’s work HERE
